Possessing more than two decades of legal experience, Michele Morel currently serves as a district judge for the State of Louisiana. An active member of her community, Michele Morel regularly visits schools to talk to students. She has been shadowed by several students through the School to Career Job Shadow Program at the Hahnville and Destrehan High Schools.
Job shadowing is an important activity for students, offering many opportunities to gain valuable knowledge and experience about particular careers. It provides students with a chance to ask specific questions about a job and to experience the various triumphs, nuances, and daily activities of different positions.
Job shadowing also demonstrates how experienced professionals approach the job on a daily basis. This includes learning about standard operating procedures and watching the social cooperation needed for successfully performing the job. Through these experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of what a job entails, allowing them to make more educated decisions about pursuing a job in a particular field.
